I got that error but then realized it was because I commented out the 'pg' gem (postgres) in my Gemfile. It seems heroku wants it.

Hi Shane,

Thanks for your comment. The class ('.file') would not work if you don't apply that class to the elements you wish to style as well. The selector 'input[type="file"]' will match *any* file selectors, however, so it's the more general solution.

Does this help? I noticed that Chrome 15 might have changed the styling of file inputs, so the result might differ a little from the screenshots I show above.

Best wishes,

Ben

One can write an itty-bitty helper to save from having to type "request." as well as maintain that familiarity from other frameworks such as Rails or Merb.

Wow, thanks Nathan! I really appreciate it.

I've been adding some YARD comments myself (not yet on this topic) and have been making pull requests as necessary. I'm really glad the documentation situation is getting better.

Personally, I would prefer one authoritative source for documentation. Are the YARD docs the closest thing? The Padrino Guides are great, but have some inaccuracies, like I mentioned.

Thanks for the heads up about this. I completely agree regarding bad documentation. That has to be cleaned up and fixed promptly and hopefully prevented from happening at all. If its any consolation you should always reference this http://www.padrinorb.com/api/Padrino/Helpers/FormatHelpers.html#time_ago_in_words-instance_method first as the code is self-documented thanks to YARD. I fixed every mention of relative_time_ago and the bad example output.
