Yesterday, Variety broke the news that Amazon had walked away from its greenlit Stargate series, announced for Prime Video just six months ago. It was claimed that Amazon were reportedly unhappy with the direction of the project, and uncertain it would appeal to a wider viewership beyond existing Stargate fans.

I never watched Stargate when it was new. I’ve only recently gotten into the series and it’s good. I don’t know why I didn’t watch it back when it was new. I was kind of looking forward to a new series. But in a way, I’m kind of glad it’s cancelled because I didn’t want to pay Amazon for it. And I’m not sure if they’re ever going to come out with other ways of watching it, other than paying Amazon for it directly for a monthly fee. So anyway, I’m only part way into Stargate SG-1 (Season 5?) and I guess we’ll see what happens. I have plenty more to watch.
